Why Choose Batt/Fiberglass Blown-Insulation?

Batt fiberglass just might be the easiest insulation to work with, and quite possibly the cheapest. These rolls are usually made of flexible fibers such as fiberglass, but they can also be made out of other material such as plastic fibers, minerals (rock and slag wool), and natural fibers (cotton and sheep wool). For a more economic approach, both the mineral and natural fiber insulation is an eco-friendly choice.

These rolls usually come available in widths suited to standard spacing of wall studs, floor joists, attic trusses, and rafters. You can also buy different R-value rolls depending on where the insulation is going to be. For example, 2 x 4-inch walls can hold R-13 or R-15 batts while 2 x 6-inch walls can hold R-19 or R-21 rolls.

These blankets/rolls can also be hand-cut and trimmed to fit in the space they’re needed. You can choose to purchase our rolls with or without a facing, but for better air resistance, we suggest purchasing with a facing. Facings usually consist of Kraft paper, foil-kraft paper, or vinyl, and they act as a vapor barrier and/or air barrier.
